16-19 Bursary
At Prince William School Sixth Form, we believe every student should have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of financial background.
The 16–19 Bursary Fund is available to support students who may need help with the costs of continuing their education.
What Is the Bursary Fund?
The bursary provides financial assistance for:
- Travel to and from school
- Meals during the school day
- Books, equipment, and course materials
- Educational trips and university visits
Types of Bursary
1. Vulnerable Student Bursary
- Up to £1,200 per year for students who are:
- In care or care leavers
- Receiving Income Support or Universal Credit in their own name
- Receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) with Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit
2. Discretionary Bursary
Available to students from households with a total income typically below £25,000 per year. Awards are based on individual need and may cover:
- Transport costs
- Lunches
- Course-related expenses
- University application fees
How to Apply
Collect an application form from the Sixth Form Office or download it from using the link at the bottom of this page.
Provide evidence of household income, such as benefit statements or tax documents.
Submit your completed form to the Sixth Form Office.
All applications are treated confidentially. Awards may be adjusted based on changing circumstances.
