Performing Arts: BTEC Level 3
Intent
Our Performing Arts Course aims to inspire and develop a life-long passion for performance. It is for performers who have a serious interest in developing a wide and marketable range of performance skills.
Introduction
The level 3 BTEC course combines major performance areas of Acting, Voice and Movement. The course is split in to a range of units that cover all aspects of performance and becoming a performer within the industry. The lessons aim to cover a wide range of theatrical/dance genres as well as theatrical/dance styles of various time periods. Students will have the opportunity to develop both their vocal and their physical skills through a variety of technique classes and workshops. They are also given regular opportunities to perform to the public in a professional theatre setting.
Students also learn about the Performing Arts business, how to make a professional CV, and they receive careers advice and audition tips from industry professionals. They take part in projects such as touring to local schools and writing, directing and producing their own work. During each year, there are many opportunities to see live performance work given by other students and live performances of professionals in regional and national venues.
