The Governing body plays an extremely important role at Prince William School.
All governing boards have three core functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
(Department for Education 2017)
All school Governors attend full governors meetings usually held once a term. Governors are also members of one of a number of sub-committees, for example Finance and premises. Governors are also expected to be a visible presence at school events supporting the students and staff through their achievements and successes.
